LCD Television

Equipment | Author | July 02, 2014
Liquid-crystal display (LCD) is a media type that uses a liquid crystal display as the main viewer. LCD has been used in various fields eg in electronic devices such as televisions, calculators or computer screen. Now LCDs dominate the display type for desktop computers and notebooks because it requires low power, thin shape, produces less heat, and has a high resolution.

In a kind of color LCD monitors, there are many points of light (pixels) which consists of a single liquid crystal as a point of light. Although referred to as a point of light, these liquid crystals do not emit their own light. The light source in an LCD device is white fluorescent lights at the rear of the liquid crystal composition.

Light point numbering tens of thousands, even millions that has shaped the image display. Polar liquid crystals through which an electric current will change because of the influence of magnetic field polarization arising and therefore will only let some color forwarded while the other colors are filtered.

Each pixel of an LCD typically consists of a layer of molecules that line between two transparent electrodes, and two polarized filters, the transmission axis of the (mostly) mutually perpendicular.

LED Television

Actually, LED TV is the development of LCD TV technology, which type of LED TV uses LED backlight technology to replace fluorescent light, the technology has been used for LCD TVs. There are two types of LED TVs on the market: LED and RGB LEDs are placed at the back of the display/ screen panel, and another type that is EDGE-LEDs where the LEDs are placed at the periphery of the screen.

LED TV Contrast Ratio
The ability of a TV to show higher contrast areas on the screen compared to other technologies. In this case, high contrast is black or white shown. The difference between light and dark colors on the screen is much better than with other technologies. Can you prove it by watching a movie with a scene at night and dark, which is where the black color is really dark with dark colors that are not so clearly distinguishable.

LED TV Viewpoint
Viewpoint or angle where the image can be seen on a TV screen. If you watch TV using LEDs on the slope angle of 45 degrees for example, feeding the image on the screen can still be seen clearly than if you watch it from the same direction as the other TV technologies (except plasma TV technology is almost equivalent to the LED TV).

LED TVs Color
Advantages and disadvantages of LED TVs
Advantages of LED TVs are:
The level of contrast-to higher when compared with LCD TVs, the same or even higher than the Plasma TV.
Produce a TV production which is thinner when compared with LCD TV technology, its thickness is only about 25 mm.
It would be more environmentally friendly and free of radiation.
Consumption of electricity is much lower, which is about 20-30% smaller when compared to conventional TVs.
Various LED TV products from well-known companies, the consumer offers the Digital TV Tuner features, digital image processing, as well as other features the latest.

Disadvantages of LED TVs are:
The price is relatively more expensive than LCD TVs, this time in the same size LCD TVs, they cost about 50% more expensive.

Conclusion
In general, LED TV offers consumers a better picture quality than LCD TVs, especially in terms of contrast-to-perfection of an black image, although for most consumers the difference is not felt. This is due to the quality of LCD TVs are more perfect. When compared to Plasma TVs, which offer less quality level or maybe more, because the latest LED TVs already offer a variety of additional features in order to process the image. The price difference is very different from an LCD TV,  because of the physical LED TVs are thinner and more elegant shape. For some people, who prefer the convenience of enjoying multimedia, television is still kind of interesting to glance. LED TV is created by using mercury-free technology, environmentally friendly, and energy efficient. Radiation produced by the LED beam less and do not use spray paint system thus indirectly LED television can reduce the impact of global warming.

Results of the colors are brighter when compared to LCD technology TV technology especially CRT (tube).

LED TVs Power consumption of
LED TV technology is the smallest power needs, unlike CRT technology and plasma technology. This is made possible because the LED lights in the back are more power efficient.

Television

The first electronic television successfully demonstrated in San Francisco in 1927 for the first time . The system was designed by Philo Farnsworth Tylor a 21-year-old boy.

Sixteen years before the success experienced by the young man, Boris Rosing in Russia had tried to do an experiment to transmit images. In 1920 a mechanical television system was created by John Logie Baird in England and Charles Francis Jenkins in the United States. They scan images using a rotating perforated disc. John Loge Baird is known as the first person of color could be transmitting.

Television commercial aircraft first made by the company Telefunken (Germany using a CRT or Carthode Ray Tube in 1934. The CRT technology is still used. However, currently has outstanding television sets that are no longer using the CRT, but they use LCR or Liquid Cyrstal display and now television became slim. LCD and LED televisions that use is known as a flat screen television today's modern era.

In 1938 a broadcast company in the United named RCA showing the opening of the New York Worlds' Fai. On that occasion, the President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, first appeared on television while giving a speech. RCA who then pay a license to use the patents from Farnsworth. Images are shown when it is not berwaran or still black and white and the system is simple. In fact, the delivery of a baseball game, all activities are monitored only by using a camera.

In 1939 color television began to show in an international radio Berlin exhibition. In 1944 John Logie Baird manages to make the viewer electronic color television. The system uses 600 lines. Keep in mind, the current technology called HDTV or high definition television uses 720 or 1080 lines resulting in a smoother image display.

Today and for the future television continued to show events around the world and continue experiencing technological advances.
